1 January 2012 Servica starts operations as a business association that provides its owners with the best support services in terms of quality and price. The operations begin with 932 employees from the food services, institutional care, property and logistics services transferred from the City of Kuopio and the North Savo healthcare district. In other parts of Finland, there was not yet a similar joint support service company between the large city and the healthcare district that would combine the expertise of experienced professionals with extensive service production.

On 1 January 2019, Servica Oy commenced operations as a public limited company, which operates as an affiliated unit of its owners, i.e. an in-house company. The company conducts most of its business with its owners. The main owners are still the City of Kuopio and the municipal federation of the Northern Savo healthcare district. Operations are expanded to the whole area of Eastern Finland. Competent staff also serve other owners, such as city group companies, municipalities in the region, healthcare districts, municipal federations and municipal education and training consortiums.

On 1 January 2023,  as a result of the well-being services county reform, Servica’s activities are expanded in terms of the number of customers and staff as well as geographically to the entire North Savo region. At the same time, services are expanding and the number of employees is growing significantly. As a result of the arrangements for the wellbeing services county of North Savo and municipal services, Servica has 34 owners, the largest of which are the City of Kuopio and the wellbeing services county of North Savo. More than 1,800 Servica employees serve local residents throughout North Savo, enabling a good everyday life.

Servica is introducing a new office for administration and logistics, which has been implemented in accordance with the RTS environmental classification. Choosing energy-efficient solutions for the new office space will bring significant cost benefits. The new facilities will enable employees in the field of instrument services, property services and central warehouses to work more efficiently and safely.
