Every day, we create
food moments that promote our customers’ well-being

We are present in our customers’ food moments every day of the year. Nearly 30,000 meals are prepared every day in our kitchens around North Savo. Each plate is designed to meet the goals agreed with the customer as well as the nutritional needs of the customer groups.

We provide food services in a variety of surroundings, including daycare centres, schools, hospitals, service centres and houses, and lunch restaurants at our customers’ premises. We also deliver home meals to our customers in the area of the North Savo wellbeing services county. Our smallest customers are babies in care at Kuopio University Hospital, to whom we supply breast milk from the Breast Milk Cente of Servica.

Our food service is based on high-quality ingredients, skilled staff and long experience in food services. In addition to preparing basic daily meals, our special expertise is in implementing special diets. Our nutritionists bring their expertise to support the entire food service. With our expertise, we implement even the most demanding special diets safely and according to our customers’ needs.

Increasing the use of organic products is part of our sustainability work

In autumn 2023, we decided to increase the use of organic food in our food services and joined the Luomutetaan ruokapalvelut organic food initiative. Read more: The Luomutetaan ruokapalvelut organic food initiative.

Approximately 78% of all the raw materials we use are of Finnish origin. Meat and meat products as well as dairy products are 100% Finnish, fresh bread and bakery products are 99% Finnish.

7.7% of our total purchases are locally produced food. We work with producers and suppliers in North Savo to increase the amount of locally produced food. In order to provide our customers with nutritionally complete and tasty meals, we invest in the development of our operations. In the development, we take into account, for example, the City of Kuopio’s climate emission reduction targets.

We monitor and report food waste every day at all our sites. Our goal is to reduce food waste by 15% by 2025.
